January 24, 2015, Near Goliad - A man who died in a crash outside of Goliad on Friday afternoon has been identified as Isaias Jose Solorio, 35, of Victoria.
Solorio was driving west on state Highway 239, five miles west of Goliad, at about 1:30 p.m., while Gregory Williams, 56, of Dallas, was driving a tractor-trailer east, towing large pipe fittings, a DPS spokeswoman said. The load was not properly secured, causing pipe fitting to fall into the westbound lane striking the front of Solorio's 1995 Mitsubishi, killing him.
Justice of the Peace Steve Kennedy pronounced Solorio dead at the scene.
